Quick Overview

A staff favourite for 12 months or more now. It is a magnificent wine bursting with pure berry fruit, well integrated oak and just a hint of crushed red pepper. On the palate there is strong blackcurrant, boosted by coffee, menthol, vanilla, spice and chocolate. The wine is concentrated with a savoury twist on the finish; fine with great varietal typicity. The wine is aged for fifteen months both in French and American oak casks. Enjoy with, dare we say it,a juicy steak and chunky chips, or fantastic with a mutton curry. Worthy of the price tag and some more!

There is something very special going on down a dusty track in one of the farther-flung out posts of Mendoza. Having been a winemaker for years, always for others ... as he puts it,Bressia and his son Walter, are now creating their own very fascinating expressions of the region - these are intensely personal wines. There is a kind of secrecy to their source, you can visit the vineyards and they are indeed impressive, gnarly old things, beautifully tended, but there is alchemy back at the bodega. Walters fabulous finds have been spun into wines of depth and character - production is tiny. The fruit is sourced from vineyards in the Agrelo and Valle de Uco regions of Mendoza. As the altitudes of the vineyards range from 940 to over 1000 metres above sea level the fruit produced is of excellent quality. Vines are vertically trained, with 6,500 plants per hectare. The wine is aged for 15 months in French and American oak barrels before bottling and each bottle is wrapped in it's own tissue paper. A fabulous wine that is well worth its price tag
