Gavi La Battistina 2015

Availability: In stock

£9.66

Quick Overview

Gavi La Battistina is pale straw in colour with an aromatic and pleasantly zesty nose of apple, lime and kiwi fruit. The Cortese grape, from which this is made needs to stay on the lees for three months in order to provide the depth of flavour that this wine shows. There are lots of citrus fruits on the palate giving it a zingy mouthwatering feel but the lees aging adds weight and complexity to the wine, making it a great wine for drinking with summer foods.

Details

Gavi La Battistina has a pale straw colour with an aromatic and zesty nose of apple, lime and kiwi. It has lots of citrus fruits on the palate giving it a zingy mouthwatering feel but the lees aging adds weight and complexity to the wine, making it a great wine for drinking with summer foods. The La Battistina estate is 25 hectares of south facing vineyards on a combination of limestone and clay. The Cortese grape vines are an average of 35 years old which gives complexity and weight to this fashionable white wine. The whole winemaking process is undertaken at the La Battistina winery. The grapes are hand harvested and pressed before being subjected to a tempertaure controlled fermentation in stainless steel. The wine stays on the lees for three months before bottling to ensure the maximum flavour and to add complexity and body.
