Nose bursting with passion fruit, guava and melon with a good dollop of citrus with distinct limey notes. Bright and fresh in the mouth with repeat of all the nose promised. Well rounded and fresh. Brisk, bright, fresh finish.

Niel Joubert Merlot 2004
Nose packed with ripe plums, violets, chocolate and vanilla. Some attractive, well-rounded, mature notes in the mouth. Attractive, with a light touch of sweet oak. Soft, almost juicy tannins in long, well-rounded finish.

Niel Joubert Pinotage 2004
Again from the Cape winelands, this typical South African varietal shows all the fruit and warmth associated with the Pinotage. It is a deep ruby red with lots of black berry fruits on the nose with a hint of cinnamon spice. Well balanced tannins make it a smooth and easy drinking red with a medium length.

Jordan Unoaked Chardonnay 2007
Jordan is a family run winery, situated at the upper end of Stellenbosch Kloof where a select range of wines is produced from classic varieties. Flavours of lemon zest with hints of peach and apricot add complexity to the full, rich palate. Extended contact with the lees has integrated the creamy citrus flavours with layers of tropical fruit.

On The Nose:
This wine is full of life, with a fresh nose that dances through a spiral of aromas, blending hints of angelica, dried flowers, pineapple, coconut, cinnamon, cocoa and tobacco.
In The Mouth:
With a fullness in the mouth, its earthy, smoky, pearly complexity rises to the surface, underscored by the vibrant warmth of peppery spice. The sensation of intensity develops and melts into a deep, rounded heart, with a fruity, exotic maturity and a slight touch of aniseed. This sensation, almost unsettling, is even more pronounced in the finish, while the notes of spice, still present, remain discreet, with toasted, iodine flavors.

"I was fortunate to have the newly released 1999 Dom Pérignon, which is a spectacular Champagne. Based on one bottle, I would not rate it as highly as the 1996 or 1990, but it is much better than the 1998, and appears to have more body and richness than the 1995, also a top-notch vintage. The 1999 should have at least 20 years of life ahead of it."

A wonderful find - new to the UK market and exclusive to Smithfield Wine. This delightful Champagne is made from the traditional grape varieties of the great Champagnes - in this case two thirds Pinot Noir and one third Chardonnay. It is kept for a minimum of three years before release. It is a glorious pale straw colour with a multitude of fine, long lasting bubbles. There is a slight peachy aroma and its taste is an explosion of fruit and carefully balanced acidity. Dry without being sharp - this is a Champagne for all occasions.

Also new to this country a glorious example of rosé Champagne. It is a pale pink with lots of fine bubbles. It has a subtle nose of raspberries and blackcurrants and has a rounded palate with well balanced acidity which makes it a perfect wine for all occasions - whether it is a celebration or just an evening of indulgence!
