Rioja Valsarte Crianza DOC 2003 is made from a blend of 85% Tempranillo and a 15% mix of Graciano and Garnacha grape varieties that have spent at least 12 months in a mixture of both French and American oak. By using the 2 different types of oak the wine maker is adding both the cedar influence of the French oak and the vanillan ones of the American oak to this excellent example of a Crianza. It has an intense cherry red colour with aromas of black fruits, pepper and toasted oak. It is fruity and well-structured with a good length on the palate. Exclusive to Smithfield Wine.
