Poggio Rosso Chianti Classico Riserva 2001 is a very lush, dense and velvety wine. The mood is dark with rich brambly fruits criss-crossed with a maze of intriguing spice, leather and savoury complexity. The core of the palate is ripe, black fruit surrounded by an elegant structure of very fine tannins and linear acidity. Great power, complexity and length.
Excellent with roasted red meats, casseroles, pasta with a rich, meaty sauce or mature, hard cheeses.
