Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 23 Year old - nose into cooked/caramelised fruits, coffee beans, hard toffee and aromatic. Rich and velvety. Oaky but with layers of sweetness underneath. Palate Powerful. Rich with cocoa solids, liquorice, chestnut (honey) and firm oak. Drier than the nose. Finish Long. Caramelised oak. Comment Bigger and therefore better balanced than the 20 Years Old. Still grippy though. Dave Broom
