Niepoort is a small, family port producer - second smallest shippers in the trade - they are second to none in quality and consolidated their reputation by being named 'Port Producer of the Year' at the 2001 Portuguese Wines Awards. Since 1842, Niepoort have been a family owned and run business, producing white port, tawny, ruby, LBV and of course, vintage port.

The current winemaker is Dirk - the 5th generation of the family to head up this house and has established himself as one of the most skilled winemakers in the Duoro.
