Montalvo Wilmot 2002 has a red cherry colour with light brown hues. Fruity aromas with hint of ripe berry fruits. The toasty background and spicy nuances are well integrated. Smooth and well balanced with a lasting finish. "This wine shows the potential of reds from the west of Castile, near the Portuguese border. Three quarters tempranillo, a quarter cabernet sauvignon, it has been aged in oak for 13 months. It shows in the toasty, spicy background to its ripe blackberry fruit and smooth finish."
