Les Galets Roules, Chateauneuf du Pape 2011

Les Galets Roules, Chateauneuf du Pape 2011

A great youthful mouthful of Chateauneuf. The grapes for Les Galets Roules ,Chateauneuf du Pape, Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvedre are carefully selected and undergo a traditional long cuvaison at high temperature and extended maceration on the skins in order to extract plenty of colour, fruit and tannins. This results in a complex wine that has warm, red, spicy fruit and damson aromas. Dense, dark, cherry fruit on the palate; structure, richness and a touch of elegance on the finish.
Les Galets Roules derives its name from the large rounded pebbles (galets roules) associated with the famous vineyards of the area. The stones cover the clay and chalk soils and naturally keep the vine yields low.
