Gosset Grand Reserve Brut NV is probably the best non vintage champagne available, combining a non vintage freshness with a richness associated with more mature vintage champagne. The opening sequence provides lift and freshness on the palate, followed by a delicate creamy richness and a delightfully long finish. Definitely worth paying that little bit more for this little beauty. Like all the best champagnes, the Grand Reserve receives 5 years second fermentation in the bottle and is held back at least a further six months before release. Received the Golden Grape award in the 2009 Guide Hachette from a cast of 35000 other wines, including 2000 champagnes!
