The first fairtrade wine landed on UK shelves around ten years ago. They were a disappointment to say the least. Today fairtrade wines stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the best wines available. By supporting fairtrade products you ensure that the producers get a fair price for the product and that the premium paid is ploughed back into providing schooling, healthcare, etc for the local community.
