Domaine de Mourchon Grand Reserve 2004 is deep purple in colour with a nose suggesting spices, liquorice and cooked red fruits. The palate is full bodied with a pronounced fruit intensity and harmonious tannins. A wine that can be aged for 7-10 years. Enjoy with red meat, game, cheeses, and even moderately spiced food. Open several hours before serving. Serve at 16-18C.Set in a secluded valley between the picturesque village of Seguret and Mont Ventoux, Domaine de Mourchon was established by the McKinlay family in 1998 with the purchase of 17 hectares of mature vines. Constructed to the highest modern standards, the new winery was completed in 2000. The terraced hillside vineyard, at an average altitude of 350m, is predominately clay and grey limestone which, combined with its microclimate, gives this location a terroir of unique quality. Careful husbandry using natural and organic techniques -"culture raisonee" as it is known in France - in conjunction with combined traditional and advanced methods of vinification, result in well structured wines with pronounced fruit aromas and strong colours.
