This cuvee has a fine garnet colour with purple depths. The nose is complex and the scents come through in a particular order. First, red fruit with very faint animal overtones, then flowers, most strikingly violets with a resinous cypress tang. This is followed by dried fruits, vanilla and a touch of pepper. It is very round in the mouth and has a long smokey finish. Dom. de la Garelle, Cote du Luberon Cuvee Pere Antoine Rouge 2001 is ready to drink now but will improve over another 10 years.
