This 1489 Chianti Reserva is in honour of the date the Baroncini family first started growing grapes at their San Gimignano estate.
The wine is deep ruby red in colour with aromas of violets, wild cherries and subtle spice notes. On the palate the wine is full bodied and balanced with soft wild berry characters and a hint of vanilla and cinnamon, coupled with a long finish. Made from 100% Sangiovese, the grapes are harvested when fully ripe. Drinking beautifully now but will continue to improve for a further 2 years.
