Palaciego Rioja Red 2005
The young (joven) red Rioja from the same producer as the white above. It is a blend of the typical red grape varieties of the Rioja region - Garnacha and Tempranillo. It has all the red fruit flavours and spice of the Tempranillo grape along with good body and alcohol level from the Garnacha. Made from a blend of 85% Tempranillo and a 15% mix of Graciano and Garnacha grape varieties that have spent at least 12 months in a mixture of both French and American oak. By using the 2 different types of oak the wine maker is adding both the cedar influence of the French oak and the vanillan ones of the American oak to this excellent example of a Crianza.
