Chateau Bauduc Bordeaux Blanc Sec 2006
The house white at Gordon Ramsay's restaurants and a 'special selection' at Rick Stein's, this 2006 Bordeaux Blanc is arguably the best made so far. Crisp, dry and delicious, the wine is made from 95% sauvignon blanc and 5% barrel fermented sémillon from carefully cultivated vines near the Château. The grapes were picked before dawn to keep the flavours bright and fresh. A versatile wine with soft citrus flavour and a lovely balance: great as an aperitif or with all sorts of lighter meals including salads and fish, shellfish and starters.

Chateau Bauduc Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge 2005
A super vintage when they could harvest à la carte - as and when they wanted - after a beautiful summer. A blend of 70% merlot and the rest cabernet sauvignon, all from the vines on the slopes around the château, this tasty claret was aged in French oak. It’s a classically styled, medium-bodied Bordeaux and was chosen as the house wine at Gordon Ramsay’s new Maze Grill in London. Serve with all the usual suspects like, er, roast meats.

Chateau Bauduc Clos des Quinze Premières Côtes de Bordeaux 2002
A 70% merlot, 30% carbernet blend, this can be drunk now or left a year as the tannins are still in evidence. 2002 was a tricky vintage until a lovely September saved the day. All the grapes were picked by hand and they were fussy about selection, so much so that they made less than half the permitted yield: 30hl/ha (hectolitres per hectare) compared to a legal limit of 63 hl/ha. We recommend you decant this traditionally styled claret before enjoying with roast lamb, a good steak or game.

Chateau Bauduc Clos des Quinze Premières Côtes de Bordeaux 2002
Chateau Bauduc Les Trois Hectares 2004
Les Trois Hectares is a limited release dry white wine that we think is more of a food wine than Bauduc’s regular, sauvignon blanc-style Bordeaux Blanc. Made from sémillon, it comes from a three hectare (seven acre) parcel of old vines that were planted in 1947. The juice from the hand picked grapes was fermented and then aged in French oak barrels. Aromatic, long and complex, it is listed at all the Ramsay restaurants and at Rick Stein’s. Less than 1000 cases made.
