McGuigan Black Label Merlot 2004
Another prize winner on our list! This one quite rightly, in our opinion. A deep red/purple colour prepares you for the aroma of blackcurrant and mulberry fruit on the nose. This is a full bodied wine with lots of berry fruits on the palate. These are accompanied by light structured young tannins which are tempered by a little residual sugar from the grapes. McGuigan Estates Bin 2000 Shiraz 2004
A wonderful deep purple red colour is the introduction to this Ozzie Shiraz. It has a distinctive cherry and plum nose with some cinnamon oak in there as well. It has strong Shiraz fruit flavours on the palate with lots of vibrant peppery spice. Robust tannins and a warm alcohol finish with a good length.

McGuigan Estates Bin 3000 Merlot 2004
This Merlot is rich purple in colour, with a nose dominated by mulberry and blackcurrant aromas. The wine is medium bodied with a good mouth feel and light, structured tannins. Berry fruit shows through on the palate accompanied by a touch of residual sugar to soften the young tannins.

Premium quality fruit came from 30 year old, low yielding vines in the Hunter Valley, with a portion from old McLaren Vale vines. These mature vines have produced a wine with great balance, length and fruit intensity. Dark cherry and plum dominate the nose with hints of spice. These flavours carry on to the palate and integrate nicely with the soft, supple tannins.

Palandri Estate Cabernet/Merlot 2001, Margaret River
The fruit comes from both Margaret River and Frankland River vineyards. The grapes had an extended maceration time to soften and broaden the tannins as well as extract lots of dark, rich colour. The blend of 88% Cabernet and 12% Merlot spends 6 months in both new and used American oak barrels to add complexity. It has aromas of plum, blackberry and hints of violet. The palate is intense with black cherry accents, a velvety smoothness and a long lingering finish.

Lots of rich plum and blackberry aromas mixed with vanilla and oak promise much from this wine - and you won't be disappointed. The flavours of subtle dark cherry and mulberry are followed closely by full, ripe, dark vine fruit and hints of spiced oak. The tannins are soft and the layers of flavours give a long, lingering finish. Fine on its own and great with rich pastas.

Palandri Cabernet Sauvignon 2002, Margaret River
This beautifully balanced Cabernet is a must for all lovers of this grape variety. It is a brilliant brick red with deep purple in colour with a nose rich in cassis and mint with underlying blackcurrant and spice. All these rich aromas follow through onto the palate and are complemented by the silky well-balanced tannins. Complexity has been added by the use of new and 1 year old French and American oak in the aging process.
