McGuigan Black Label Merlot 2004
Another prize winner on our list! This one quite rightly, in our opinion. A deep red/purple colour prepares you for aromas of blackcurrant and mulberry fruit on the nose. This is a full bodied wine with lots of berry fruits on the palate. These are accompanied by light structured young tannins which are tempered by a little residual sugar from the grapes. A wonderful deep purple red colour is the introduction to this Ozzie Shiraz. It has a distinctive cherry and plum nose with some cinnamon oak in there as well. It has strong Shiraz fruit flavours on the palate with lots of vibrant peppery spice. Robust tannins and a warm alcohol finish with a good length.

This Merlot is rich purple in colour, with a nose dominated by mulberry and blackcurrant aromas. The wine is medium bodied with a good mouth feel and light, structured tannins. Berry fruit shows through on the palate accompanied by a touch of residual sugar to soften the young tannins.
